Google and Your Association

I came across this bit of information on a technology listserv awhile back:

Some attendees pointed out that many visitors now find a Web site through Google, and often don't enter through the home page; they start on the page of the site that Google found.

Not really a shocker, but it brings up an interesting question: Are site searches dead?

This is a great post. What are others doing for pages that become most popular on a site or get bookmarked? For example, we have an online job posting system and it appears that our highest entry pages are to this area. People who bookmark these never go to our main page. Is there anything that can be done for bookmarked pages in terms of a redirect script or something so end-users are forced to go to the index page?
