Lists work great for blog posts. Now that it’s almost 2007, lists rating and recapping 2006 are everywhere. Best movies, best albums, best celebrity car crashes…and like a car crash, it’s hard not to slow down and take a peek. Here’s some other reasons lists grab attention:

2. Familiar convention
3. They’re opinionated, editorial
4. Instant discussion (“The Holiday” #1? Is the author on drugs?)
5. Valuable content, condensed
