Digital Agency Project Manager

Gulo is a dynamic and growing marketing web design, and on-page performance agency based in Chicago and Cincinnati. Our primary focus is on website design and conversion optimization for medium-to-large DTC/CPG companies, and National Associations.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, client-focused, self-starter who is eager to join our team as a Digital Agency Project Manager.

This is a remote position. You can live and work anywhere in the United States. We do have offices in Chicago and Cincinnati. Where you work each day is your choice.

About This Role

The Digital Agency Project Manager at Gulo works alongside our Managing Partners to communicate with clients, design high-performing web strategies, and take a leadership role in client management and account growth.

The Digital Agency Project Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with all clients and internal teams. They will initiate projects and keep everything moving forward, on time, and on budget.

We’re looking for a service-minded individual with a positive attitude and proactive approach towards clients and colleagues. Leadership, autonomy, time management, and superior communication make all the difference on a small team like ours.


  • End-to-end client and project management; ability to breakdown tasks and delegate accordingly.
  • Manage projects while also looking at the portfolio of projects and forecasting potential bottlenecks with resources.
  • Managing teams and projects with PM software (we use
  • Manage, report, and communicate on the project team’s utilization and client’s budget through Harvest time tracking.
  • Manage project scope, scope creep, and financial aspects, including time and budget, with the client in an effective way.
  • Review internal deliverables and milestones to ensure adherence to client goals and objectives.
  • Manage client feedback and communicate all input to the team.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of clients’ products, services, and brands, including competitive and other industry forces that shape the business.
  • Budget monitoring and management.
  • Resource monitoring and management. 
  • Present work to clients with team leads.
  • Anticipate client questions and provide workable solutions.
  • Demonstrate thinking/communicating from the client’s perspective as well as Gulo’s Client Services.
  • Responsible for day-to-day client contact.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of industry-specific/agency account experience
  • Extensive knowledge of web design and marketing (SEO, CRO)
  • Strategic, creative problem solver
  • Self-motivated leader who thrives in an autonomous work environment
  • Diplomatic and clear communicator 
  • Tactfully navigate difficult/sensitive information
  • Results-focused, detail-oriented
  • Deeply familiar with process and project management
  • Flexible, dynamic, able to adapt quickly to changes
  • Schedule, plan, and lead kick-off and regular status meetings with the project team and business partners.
  • Experience in developing estimates and managing project budgets.
  • Experience in writing briefs and project plan/strategy documents.
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
  • Experience creating website project documents like a statement of work (SOW), project specifications, and creative briefs.
