Business Development Manager

Founded in 2003, Gulo is a friendly digital agency located in Chicago. We’ve worked with some pretty awesome organizations and companies including CME Group, Braintree, Deposit A Gift and The University of Illinois at Chicago, to name just a few.

While our focus is largely on consulting and client work, we also place a high emphasis on exploring new opportunities through side projects and internal product development.

Job Description:

We are looking for personable individual who loves sales and building productive, long-lasting client relationships. Someone who enjoys pitching to potential new clients and sharing what services Gulo offers.

  • Develop and qualify leads to drive additional business opportunities
  • Use creativity to find new ways to approach clients and close sales
  • Sell to new customers; Close leads; Navigate relationships from inception to close
  • Foster and grow strong, long-term relationships with key clients
  • Manage existing relationships; Customer service
  • Negotiate terms and bring contracts to a close
  • Gather business intelligence on companies and qualified prospects to sustain a solid sales pipeline
  • Travel Required

Candidate Skills & Experience:

  • Experience between 2-4 years
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Self starter and extremely motivated
  • Interested and able to work in startup / software environment (experience with SaaS products)
  • Knowledge of web application industry and technological selling skills; quickly learn the company’s products and services
  • Hard-working, well-organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Curiosity to learn and grow

Your Life:

  • Half-day Fridays during the summer
  • Take-it-as-you-want-it vacation policy that requires a minimum of two weeks off yearly and a maximum of ten paid time off (PTO)
