The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a highly competitive two-year paid training program with The CDC. The program is designed to identify future public health professionals. Trainees are assigned to public health agencies and nongovernmental organizations. They work alongside other public health professionals across a variety of settings.
Gulo collaborated with the National Network of Public Health Institutes to develop an interviewer training tool. The goal was to help improve consistency amongst reviewers and improve the selection process for the PHAP applicants. The web app, built with the CakePHP development framework, provides the opportunity for reviewers to conduct mock interviews and to receive feedback on their responses. The site also includes an administrative area which provides stakeholders ability to edit questions, view scoring results and analyze training data.
