Well it looks like they (the Firefox developers) have taken some of my favorite extensions and put them right into the version 2 browser:

  • Changes to tabbed browsing behavior
  • Ability to re-open accidentally closed tabs
  • Built in Phishing Protection.

Above and beyond that, they put in search suggestions for google, yahoo and answers.com (who uses this anyway?) have put in support for JavaScript 1.7

…new features,
in particular generators, iterators, array comprehensions, let expressions, and destructuring assignment.

I am not sure how much fun AJAX developers will have with this, I don’t really see a whole lot of new power in the 1.7 release. Be sure of one thing, google developers will certainly find some way to push the limits of the new release as well as the JS 1.7. Have you seen the latest features in google maps? You can scroll with your mouse wheel. Ridiculous!
