Project Details

Representing more than 1,000 businesses that employ half a million workers, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce is the city’s most influential business organization. We were asked to overhaul the Chamber’s website to humanize an organization that prides itself on its members and relationship building.

The Chamber is the representative body for area business. With its visionary leadership and active members, they offer a rich history of advocacy and the power of people. The Chamber fosters a dynamic economy and member value, making it a world-class Chamber of Commerce.

Greater website flexibility

It was important that web redesign create a framework for the Chamber’s marketing team to maintain editorial control and build landing pages free without support from an Agency.

To unlock this power, Gulo used the WordPress Gutenberg Block Editor to lay the groundwork for building highly-targeted landing pages.

Site managers and marketers are empowered with the ability to easily update content, add pages, and make design revisions to the site whenever necessary.

A Design Success

For the website user experience, the Chicago Web Design Team leaned into a more engaging design style based on storytelling. As an events driven organization, it was important to show interactions and faces of those who make the organization what it is.

We worked around the existing and recently refreshed brand guidelines. The site has unique brand flourishes throughout which makes the website feel textural and have depth. The full-bleed Chicago skyline photograph on the homepage is immediately recognizable and gives topline Chamber news and events the ability to breathe within the design.

Improved engagement

The improvement is 10x. There are fewer site searches, longer sessions and fewer pages per visit.
